I am transitioning my X account to bluesky. I don’t want authors I’ve mentioned in my new project not to know about it, so please follow me there at @jsanchez-taylor.bsky.social. And here’s the pre-order link for Dispelling Fantasies: https://t.co/sZVMxTkkUT
Having the best time at VICFA, the virtual conference arm of @IAFA_TW. I also got the opportunity to share the amazing cover for my forthcoming book Dispelling Fantasies, which will be out in July 2025! Credit to Black Kirby: @JIJennings and Stacey Robinson and @ohiostatepress.
@kjy1066@IAFA_TW@JIJennings@ohiostatepress Yes! I discuss “Up in the Hills” in my chapter on gender representations. Thank you for this important story which should be taught whenever possible!
@JIJennings@IAFA_TW@ohiostatepress Thank you both! Please send my thanks to Stacey as well. The cover is so great and will look amazing next to Diverse Futures!
I am so excited that my review of @RSAGarcia's The Nightward is out @strangehorizons today! Warning: there are a few spoilers in terms of plot and structure. If you like Caribbean-set SFF novels, this one is for you: https://t.co/Mv5wE7eeca
@silviamg Sorry to hear this! And everyone who missed out on hearing you talk can come to the International Conference of the Fantastic in the Arts instead next March. Very excited to see you there!
@catvalente Tell me your parenting secrets! Seriously, I have a first grader who loves to read, but no way will she go to bed solo or early. You deserve to feel proud!
This is so sad. I hate seeing authors I admire struggle because of the exploitative systems of publishing. If publishing genre fiction continues to be a hardship for authors, which voices will be left out?
I tried to make trad pub work for so, so long at the expense at my time, energy, and mental health, but there's no place for me and my stories.
THE POISONS WE DRINK will be my last trad pub story.
I'm geniunely done with this shit. Godspeed to those who are stronger than me.
I am very excited to announce that my second book project, Dispelling Fantasies: Authors of Color Reimagine a Genre, will be published by Ohio State UP in July 2025!!! Thank you to everyone who helped me crowdsource for authors, titles, and other related items.
@LMDavisWrites Yes! I have some included in the main chapters extensive further reading lists where I tried to include every author I knew about from my research and social media accounts. I hope this books ends up being a resource for scholars and fans to find new authors to love!
And if you reviewed any part of my manuscript for me, don't even think about buying a copy! I will be sending one with my gratitude expressed in the acknowledgements.
Check out this glowing, in-depth review of my debut poetry collection MEXICANS ON THE MOON, by the good folks at Somos en Escrito! What an honor!

Good morning! The @apexmag 2025 Kickstarter is currently at $18,143! That's only $1,857 away from unlocking the 4th issue next year!!! We've got 6 days to fully fund next year. Can we do it? https://t.co/lImTPy8aL4
@doc_chocula If they have no money for any real change, I would have liked a letter reminding me that I was chosen for this program for a reason. Such a letter would have really helped me towards the end of my studies.
