Come for the SF politics and government tweets, stay for the cute cat and baby pics, leave when I start tweeting about bluegrass or the Grateful Dead. He/him.
.@SFACC my son wants to report that a tiger is caught in a net at Rooftop Elementary. You go down the dirt path next to the stairs, then up a ladder, across the roof of Rooftop, and then jump down onto the fluffy trampoline. From there this map will lead you to the tiger at #3.
San Francisco and California have lost a giant. John Burton dedicated his life to public service and never forgot who he was fighting for.
His legacy is woven into the fabric of our city and state—in the rights of workers, in protections for foster youth and the most vulnerable, and in the countless public servants he mentored.
On behalf of the City and County of San Francisco, I send my deepest condolences to his daughter, Kimiko, his grandchildren, and the entire Burton family. John Burton’s legacy will live on in the city he loved and the generations he inspired to serve.
Here’s your twitter-sized Pissed Off Voter Guide! Use it to vote and please RT. We don’t have a billionaire benefactor, so we need your help to cut through the noise of all their nonsense ads. See our full analysis at https://t.co/mMI6ASuw36
I installed a box high up on a pole somewhere in the Mission. Inside is a crappy Android phone, set to Shazam constantly, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It's solar powered, and the mic is pointed down at the street below https://t.co/8D4yYNBPgu
With all eyes on Las Vegas, it was a super week for @EduOverStadiums . Lawsuit filed. LV Mayor -- the A's should stay in Oakland. National press questioning state #priorities. Now the A's are looking to extend at the Coliseum. They are on the ropes. Keep the pressure on!
Wondering if @sfchronicle's excellent coverage of Cal Voting Rights Act claim against SF school board will finally bring about CVRA reforms--and maybe a larger rethinking of the post-1960s project of incentivizing private parties to enforce public law? 🧵

OPINION: "In San Francisco, candidates from minority groups have consistently been elected in at-large elections. The same cannot be said for district elections," writes John Trasvina, former dean of the University of San Francisco School of Law. https://t.co/lgNoitiWvI
@LeeHepner I just opened twitter for the first time in 2024, and this is the first tweet I saw. All these lovely pictures make me want to walk away for good and end my twitter experience on a high note.
@Grimezsz@pronounced_kyle Exactly! I was so excited to get quantum physics & general relativity, & then so offended by how dull & rote they are. "This is a blah, this is a blah blah with blah...." No attempt to convey any bigger picture or what the science is about. Just an assembly line of mediocrity.
San Francisco crow update: there is an absolutely massive murder of crows on the wires at Laguna and Page. Never seen anything like it. Seriously, Hitchcockian proportions.
Michael Jackson and Prince were at a James Brown concert in 1983. James called up Michael mid performance to sing. Michael suggested that Prince be brought up as well, knowing Prince was high.
Prince embarrassed himself, then tried to run Michael over in the parking lot.

@clhubes I had no idea who my top artist was until I figured out he’s the composer of the Wall-E soundtrack. And my top track is Brian Eno’s Music for Airports AKA nap time music.
