Don’t worry if you see or hear the Emergency Services around La Collette and Fort Regent at about 9am today – it’s part of an exercise to test how they work together.

At 19:56 on Sat night, JLA was paged to a tasking in St Aubin’s Bay. Operating in shallow waters & making use of our FLIR camera, Albert Pinel conducted a thorough search of the area.
In attendance were also the @JsyFire & Jersey Air Rescue Drone Team, working alongside us ...
The fire was concentrated under the bonnet and was quickly extinguished.
Following the usual checks, the vehicle was handed over to recovery agents and the road was reopened.
At 11:15am this morning, firefighters from Green Watch were called to a vehicle on fire at the bottom of Mont Cochon in St Lawrence.
While it was an EV, there is no evidence that the high-voltage electric battery, which replaces a fuel-powered car’s engine, was involved.
💡 A few ways to stay safe:
1. Always stay nearby when using your tumble dryer or other appliances.
2. Switch off and unplug when you're finished.
3. Regularly clean the lint filter and vents to reduce fire risk.
4. Check for recalls on your appliances and keep them maintained.
Electrical safety tip: don’t leave appliances running unattended.
This Electrical Fire Safety Week, we are reminding everyone of the importance of never leaving appliances like tumble dryers running when you're out or overnight.

The farmer and Grouville Centenier were on scene.
Of the 14 cows in the water, 13 were rescued successfully. Sadly, one did not survive. Its body was returned to the beach.
At approximately 6:40am this morning, firefighters were called to Grouville Bay to rescue 14 cows from in the water.
The cows appear to have walked along the beach and, when their safe exit was cut off by the high tide, they swam out to sea.

Some of the animals had been blown by the wind and were approximately 300m offshore.
Firefighters mobilised the Inshore Rescue Boat and worked with the RNLI crews from St Catherine’s to fasten ropes around the cows’ necks to tow them into shore at Le Hurel.
Firefighters in three appliances, including an on-call crew, and a duty manager, were called to Police Headquarters on Route du Fort at approximately 11:15pm last night.

Jersey Met along with colleagues from across Government, Jersey Water, Andium and the Parishes will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates.
This weather is not unusual for this time of year, but as a precaution I&E have been clearing drains and getting prepared.
Although there is a risk of low level flooding, public advice on how to prepare can be found via: Flooding: how to prepare, cope and clean up.
☔️Weekend Weather Update💨
Jersey Met is forecasting the potential for persistent rain, heavy at times from 6pm Sunday through to midnight, which may cause localised flooding around the Island.

@MaccaJsy Hi Marie Claire, there will be muster points at either end of the tunnel but these may change depending on the nature or location of the incident. You are advised to exit the tunnel without passing the incident and will be told where the muster point is then. Thanks.
Last night, we joined @GovJsyIE in the Tunnel, to carry out a smoke test.
This test allowed us to see, in person, what a fire in the tunnel would look like. The exercise reinforced our risk information and helps ensure that we are well prepared, should an incident occur.
