“What’s better than the outdoors? Being able to make a living off it.”
Meet Jubilee. A nature loving pony and park ranger, and now a mommy to an adorable baby filly, @lilsqueakerM.
//Placeholder picture while I see about getting something with Jubi and Flitter together.
@spoiledlola_ {Jubi saw what was going on, smiling at her being so gentle and caring. But when she saw the glow coming from her flank…}
Flitter! Look at your flank!
{Her tone is hushed so as not to scare either her or the little friend she is helping, but filled with excitement.}
//It's kind of late, but I'm trying to come back to life here. I didn't expect to be away from here so long and I'm real sorry about that, but yeah. Expect to see a little bit more of me. 💝
{Her night has been spent making sure the cabin is plenty warm not just for Flitter, but for her too. It's a chilly night, but she's going to make sure the chill doesn't reach them inside.}
@sweetKrypto1 The grand galloping gala? Wow. That sounds real fancy.
{The gala is very soon, and as it turns out, the parks service has extra invites, so they could both go if they wanted to.}
We'd have to look really fancy if we wanna go there.
😉
@sweetKrypto1 ….gurrrr……huh?
{Her sleeping in gets interrupted by hearing whining, her ears and mind tuned to anything sounding in trouble.}
….hold on, I’m coming….
{Sleepily stumbles her way outside.}
@sweetAmityB I see her, sweetie. Oh, she looks in rough shape.
{She is careful in maneuvering the stroller up to the front yard, stopping just short of the filly so as not to frighten her.}
@sweetAmityB {The squirrel makes chittering, squeaking noises at Flitter, climbing down from Jubi’s head to the sun shade of the stroller. The way it chitters, it’s almost like it’s trying to talk to her.}
@sweetAmityB {She giggles at Flitter's reaction, the little bat baby's laughter warming her heart after many, many days of worry.}
That was a silly squirrel, wasn't it, Flitter?
{Unknown to Jubi, a second squirrel has climbed onto her head, looking down at Flitter with beady eyes.}
@sweetAmityB So many birdies. Look at them.
{She whistles at a flock of birds flying overhead. It's a gorgeous day for any creature to be out. But it would be a squirrel in a tree that pays close attention to them.}
@sweetAmityB I thought you’d like that.
{By the time the doctor returns with discharge papers, Jubi’s changed Flitter’s diaper, wrapped her into a cozy star pattern blanket, and put her in a stroller, figuring it’s the best way to move her around while she gets back up to full health.}
@sweetAmityB I know. But I’ll try to make it…less yucky.
{While waiting for discharge papers, she would pick her up and hug her tightly.}
You’ve been such a big, brave girl this whole time, Flitter. How about we get a fun toy or something on the way home?
@sweetAmityB {She would smile weakly at Flitter, happy she gets to come home, but knowing she doesn’t look forward to medicine.}
I know, sweetie. None of that sounds fun. But it’s all to help you get better.
{Little boop to her nose, hoping that at least makes her giggle.}
@sweetAmityB Huh?
{She would instantly be awake at the sound of her daughter’s voice, smiling sleepily as she sees her awake.}
Hi, baby girl. How are you feeling?
{Flitter gets a gentle nuzzle from her, doing her best not to be in too many tears. It’s been so hard seeing her so sick.}
@sweetAmityB {The nurse is thanked for her advice. She’ll need all the advice she can get. She would muse on that advice, along with read the discharge papers and some other baby care stuff while lying in bed when she gets home, keeping baby Star Lily in her hooves.}
@sweetAmityB {Smiles at her as she picks her up, gives her a kiss, and then puts her in her carrier, medicines going into her saddlebag. She’ll have her in her hooves again soon. She’s going to take a cab back to the edge of the forest, trotting the rest of the way home.}
@sweetAmityB {As she cradles Star Lily, the name she gave her during the formal adoption, the nurses go over her care and follow up appointments for the next few weeks. She is sure to pay very close attention, wanting to ensure the baby’s well being.}
