I sit in awe and holy fear of the Mighty One... there are the natural factors in all of this but there is also the reality of a very real God. We are but mere mortals. Selah ππΎ
Humour is a HEALTHY coping mechanism. We are simply managing the heightened levels of anxiety caused by fear and uncertainty. Many fear that the worst lies ahead but we intend to face that reality head-on. #Jamaica is strong!
Adversity often highlights our best qualities. Most Jamaicans understand the implications of #HurricaneMelissa because we are listening to credible sources of information. Do not interpret our use of humour as minimization of the current situation.
@MatthewCappucci You became complicit when you endorsed that kind of messaging. "Wi nuh tek disrespec' from nuh baddi" (translation: We do allow anyone to disrespect us). I hope this gives you a clear idea of why you have had your own historic moment in Jamaican X.

BREAKING: Category 5 Hurricane Melissaβs sustained winds are now roaring at 175 MPH, and the air pressure in her searing eye has sunk to 906 MBAR.
The storm is starting to take the northern turn towards Jamaica, and if she intensifies any further, she will begin to approach the mathematical limits of how strong a storm can become in this part of the world.
