To all the comic book collectors irl and I am one of them. Did you know that most of the modern comics created in the 21st century are created using a computer. Most coloring has been done digitally for 2 decades now and the finished comic is then printed from the digital into the physical.
Why is it so hard to imagine that people would want to collect in the same medium that most comics are created in now, the digital one.
I hear irl comic book collectors advocate for slabed comics because they are preserving the book and ensuring that it lives on for future generations. I don't see the digital books much differently. You are taking the history of that book and preserving it in a digital form. You are then letting people buy that book and collect it, yes they can sell it for whatever reason but they can do the same with a slabed copy of the same book.
The argument that they are not real when you look at the facts is very clear, the modern comic's you love and buy at the local comic book shop, is a finished digital comic saved on a hard drive and then sent to a printer to be transformed in to the physical product. I would argue that the digital is actually the true original and the physical is the facsimile atlest on modern books 2010 to prenesnt day. Put down your pich forks 😆 I love physical collecting but this is the direction the world is going..... #vevefam
