The purpose of education isn't only to impart knowledge and skills. It's to instill a love of learning.

Intellectual curiosity is seeing as much beauty in ideas and data as you do in art and music.

A mark of a great teacher is a room filled with intrinsic motivation.

@PaulHamilton8 @ARMakrApp @AppleEDU Love it! But how oh how do I share my video outside of the App!!!

[Judith Smallbone @JudeSmallbone]

@NZMorningReport U1 schools are easily bigger than 6 or 7 students...I’m U1 with 37 students and growing. I have 4 staff and all the same responsibilities as any principal - plus teaching two days a week.

Sad but true...

Principals of small primary schools dismayed at latest pay offer https://t.co/whpJCeeAyV

[Judith Smallbone @JudeSmallbone]

@RNZeducation Have you investigated what principals think of the deal? Particularly those in smaller schools who could well earn less than teachers at top the scale...☹️

[Judith Smallbone @JudeSmallbone]

@GerardBeale Hi :) I have two fabulous students here (who are related to you as well they say!) who would love to ask you some more questions for their writing and art project...would you have time to help??? (Upper Atiamuri School)

[Judith Smallbone @JudeSmallbone]

@iangriffin @callumkayak Gosh - that is interesting! 😊

[Judith Smallbone @JudeSmallbone]

Motivation. Interest captured.

If the kids are not motivated to write or you have not captured their attention with the topic/task, you are wasting your time and theirs.

More thoughts around engagement, challenge and compliance https://t.co/1I4HLgreve

[Ted Fujimoto 💡 @tedfujimoto]

What does your school culture promote? Compliance or Engagement? Students suffer if they go to a school where compiance is valued more than engagement and/or the school cannot tell the difference. https://t.co/KQjNjGgJPf #edchat #edleadership

[Judith Smallbone @JudeSmallbone]

Yes! Very true...time to challenge this https://t.co/qJhjc31Xpr

[George Couros @gcouros]

...if we want “innovative students,” we will need “innovative educators.” Many of the rules of compliance that our students face in schools are the same ones educators face. #InnovatorsMindset
