Definitely will check it out.
May his memory be a blessing.
Very sad, was lucky enough to catch a Q & A with Brian moderated by Cheryl after a screening of the Judee Sill doc in my neighborhood, one of my favorite movie memories
😢Documentarian Brian Lindstrom, who directed and produced Lost Angel: The Genius of Judee Sill, died at the age of 65 yesterday morning, Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, his wife, Wild and Tiny Beautiful Things author Cheryl Strayed, announced on Instagram.
With the heaviest of hearts, we share that the director, producer and soul of @JudeeDoc has passed away.
His warm smile and calm wisdom will be missed but his films will live on.
"Then a new song was sung."
"We delight in coming to know her, even as we mourn what was never to be."
I can't believe I've just discovered Judee Sill. I've begun what I know will be an intoxicating love affair with this music!

The great rediscovery of the forgotten 70s folk singer Judee Sill
MY JUDEE SILL STORY
I’m old. But finally had enough of XM & it’s maybe 50-100 song (20 groups, 5 songs/each) “catalogue” of 70’s rock played over & over & over.
So I got Spotify this year. I plugged in maybe 15 groups & artists all from the 70’s. Although Joni Mitchell wasn’t one, I recently asked Siri for “Hissing of Summer Lawns,” a longtime favorite.
Almost as a gift (and as if it can read my mind), Spotify sent me 3 of my favorite Roche Sister songs (which I had lost track of & not heard in maybe 45 years).
Next Spotify sent me something l’d never heard of called “The Lamb Ran Away with the Crown” by someone named Judee Sill, who I had never heard of. I went through junior high, high school, & part of college in the 70’s. How did I miss Judee Sill?
I’m blown away. This is absolutely the best song from the 70’s I’ve never heard of. Now I’m wondering if I’ve missed anyone else. If there’s a fan club, I’m in.
