Congrats to the new ADA in Brunswick County, my home county! However, I thought that @FranWellerWECT and @wectnews remembered that Judge Fred Gore was the 1st black male to “serve” Brunswick County & District. Honored to serve! https://t.co/WRoiTFiKJ0
@FranWellerWECT@wectnews@BrunswickCount1 I worked hard in the district for years with great success and didn’t seek out the media. I was always told: “do a good job and let your work speak for itself!” That what I have and will continue to do! God bless!
@FranWellerWECT@wectnews@BrunswickCount1 I continue to be disappointed at the lack of research by all parties that carry this narrative! I respect your experience but the citizens deserve a better level of due diligence on history of this MAGNITUDE! I simply ask you WHAT WOULD JUDGE OLA LEWIS DO IF SHE WAS IN MY SHOES!
@FranWellerWECT@wectnews Judge McGee serves Bladen Columbus and Bruns. Counties just as I proudly served. I am aware of only one other correction to this falsehood @NBMag.
@FranWellerWECT@wectnews@BrunswickCount1 Any disappointment you feel Frances lies at the feet of the person making the false statements and the other outlets that have continued it. I have worked hard for a legacy that my children can look up to and no one including yourself or the 2nd black male judge will take that!
Today is a somber day! I’m apart of those that have volunteered to keep America FREE! Some paid the ultimate price. While you enjoy today, it is not a happy day but a day to honor those that paid the highest price and will not be able to sit on the beach and enjoy the view. 🇺🇸
Humbled by Appalachian School of Law! To be recognized by your peers keeps you motivated to push harder! Thanks to the Alumni Assoc., Phillip Blevins, and to the ASL administration. Also great to see my fellow alumnus, friend, and great attorney Christopher Young.
Wes Saunders was sworn-in as a new deputy commissioner at the Industrial Commission. The ceremonial session was held at the Court of Appeals on Monday. Pictured are Judge Gore, Wes Saunders, Judge Dillon, Laura Saunders, and Judge Griffin. Congratulations Wes!

“Everybody can be great … because anybody can serve. You dont have to have a college degree to serve. You don’t have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.” Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Grateful to take the oath of office today for the North Carolina Court of Appeals! My family and I are ready to serve the citizens of NC. We are also thankful to Judge John Tyson of the NC Court of Appeals for administering the oath.
Today I ended of my tenure as a Dist Ct Judge. As a young attorney I dreamed of becoming a judge. To come home and make a difference as a Judge was deeply gratifying. As I take my oath for the NC Court of Appeals I am thankful for your vote and will work hard for all citizens!
