When your #TrustyHuskies are committed to our school community being the best possible learning environment, you get to visit with kids all day for good reasons @MrsKyraYung
In a standards-based class, learning is the goal. If assessment shows a S hasn’t learned something, it’s not on them to meet out of class or miss recess; it’s on us to find another way forward in class. A focus on learning isn’t always convenient, but the results are worth it.
Our math block is split into two blocks, which I love! It allows me to collect exit slips before lunch & teach specifically to students’ needs after lunch. Check out the work of the same two Ss from before lunch & after lunch. #WeAreRBE

#ElemMathChat The first and most important way to encourage growth mindsets in students is to develop one yourself. How do you react to struggle and failure? Do you see them as opportunities? Do you embrace struggle?
#ElemMathChat The most successful teachers we have studied are those that teach to big ideas instead of methods. Work out the big ideas in your grade, and for each one find rich, deep activities. The methods come out as you teach to big ideas, that give enduring understanding.
