@NathanAGray @latimes @latimesopinion I work for a NFP hospice that gives great care. My sister's mother-in-law was in NPF hospice and had a horrible experience. They would not let the family administer morphine until a nurse came to the house, but that was hours. She suffered greatly and died in pain.

But I agree that in general not for profits are more likely to cut corners and give substandard care.

@NathanAGray I hear that so often. What patients hear is that if they work hard to get stronger, then they can go back into treatment, which is often not remotely realistic. I never thought of the idea that they hear they are not good enough. You always hit the mail on the head. Thanks
