@JohnHMcWhorter I don’t know our you’re familiar with the “RE “classes that were part of the New York City public school curriculum in the 20th century. RE stood for retarded, educable, and they were reserved for slow or slower learners. I don’t know when they stopped using that
@jerrysaltz I agree with you, although I’ve never skipped ahead when reading a biography. So when I wrote the biography of Richard Bellamy-Eye of the Sixties-I began on the night of the Guggenheim’s grand opening rather than a dive into the story of his life.
