@jean_pjtwood My colleagues and I have been having that exact discussion. The gap is going to be massive so the challenge is going to be figuring out how to bridge - does the time for the off the spec need working into GCSE or A level for them to cope with the step up?
@MrGriffithMFL My first thought is do secure and outstanding have to go together? I am definitely secure and can be outstanding but even after a lot of years teaching, lessons still go wrong. I think that's normal so don't fret about it, I reflect & move on.
@RhiannaEliza98 The colleague you were covering asked who'd done his lessons because his classroom was immaculate and the cover work had been done - he was overjoyed!
Popped to @WorcCathedral to light a candle in memory of my dad. Got chatting to 2 ladies at the sustainability fair who it turned out were @StRichardsHosp volunteers, the same place that helped me 25 years ago when he died. They gave me a hug & made me smile, wonderful timing β₯οΈ
@ecodukes@UWPGSEC @BronkpHarvey @TheChaseEco1 I had lots of fun - best cover lesson I've done in ages! It was lovely to see the students so engaged in nature π³πβοΈ
Just doing a fantastic cover lesson with @BronkpHarvey & @UWPGSEC students, focusing on Climate Education & creative writing. The students have read an extract from @NaturalistDara's book & now are writing inspired by the Malvern Hills. @TheChaseMalvern@TheChaseEco1
@TheChaseEco1@NaturalistDara @BronkpHarvey I love this book, it is fab. Have you read his other books? They're also great and beautifully illustrated too π I was lucky enough to hear Dara talk last month, he is very inspirational and I'm sure the students will love his work.
@MrGriffithMFL I teach it using a cooking analogy which seems to help liven it up a bit - we have to make sure we have an onion (subject), a bay leaf (verb stem) & a carrot (ending) to help us cook the imperfect tense...bonkers but it seems to help!
