Today, I officiated at the grand inauguration and key handover ceremony of the Kampala Marriott Hotel and Marriott Executive Apartments in Nsambya.
I congratulate Mr. Posiano Ngabirano for growing his business from a small grocery shop in Nakasero into this major investment. This is the kind of transformation we want to see, from importing to producing and creating wealth here in Uganda.
Our development must be driven by the four sectors of commercial agriculture, manufacturing, services and ICT. I am also pleased that this investment is creating jobs for Ugandans and supporting local suppliers.
I thank our elder His Eminence Cardinal Wamala for offering the land, the Marriott International, NSSF and all those who contributed to this investment. I welcome more investors to Uganda.
I welcome international artiste Tyrese Gibson to Uganda. We discussed the creative arts, tourism, and the shared history and heritage of Africa and African Americans.
I shared with him Uganda’s four sectors of socio-economic transformation, including the role of artistes like him in the services sector. We also discussed the opportunities in these sectors and how they can contribute to Uganda’s development.
I wish him a fruitful and enjoyable visit to Uganda.

This investment is an important step in our industrialisation journey. It strengthens local value addition, creates employment opportunities for our people and reduces dependence on imported intermediate products. Uganda has abundant iron ore resources, including high-grade iron ore, and we must use these resources to build a competitive steel industry.
President Yoweri Museveni has approved the establishment of three new Presidential Industrial Skilling Hubs in Ntungamo, Bushenyi and Kalangala districts, aimed at expanding access to vocational training and empowering vulnerable youth with practical skills.
@KagutaMuseveni Your Excellency, President Yoweri Museveni, allow me to join you in welcoming my brother from Tanzania, Abdul Halim Hafidh Ameir, and his delegation. May they gain valuable wisdom and guidance from you as a great father of Africa. 🇺🇬🤝🇹🇿
I welcomed my son from Tanzania, Abdul Halim Hafidh Ameir and his delegation at State House Entebbe.
