Pls read & share this Ruby’s Law has officially become the Domestic Abuse (Pets) Bill following its first reading in Parliament.
A huge thank you to @RuthJonesLabour  for a powerful speech advocating vital amendments to the Family Law Act 1996 & the Domestic Abuse Act 2021.
Pets are too often used as tools of coercive control in abusive households. Protecting them means protecting survivors too.
Next stop: Second Reading in May.
