There's spud-gun turrets, scarecrow goalies. We've even got a dog but they'll sooner pet you with a turnip than seek out scritches!

@BeanJuiceStudio Platformers. It’s always the first one folks tend to aim for as their first game, and they simply don’t sell unless you’re one of the elite franchises.
@Lockie_Glizzy How about this - out Horticultural combat game, Planted!
1-4 player party multiplayer, single player campaign, online & offline play, crossplay at launch and just pure cultivated chaos :)
Some cool news coming *soon* too :D
Are you ready to Sow, Grow, and Throw your way to victory?
Introducing Planted, a multiplayer, horticultural combat game where the garden is your arena and you can grow your own weapons, from onions to watermelons.
Check out our announcement trailer and join us for co-op chaos later this year!
This indie dev is making a game where your Steam backlog comes to life… & tries to kill you.
- Fight the games you never played
- The more you paid, the stronger they are
- You’re literally battling your backlog
It’s called Game Quest: The Backlog Battler. Would you play this?
@BeanJuiceStudio The algorithm has connected us and I’ve been watching on with interest and even sharing with my team. Curious to ask - any marketing lesson you’ve learnt?
@sensational965 Marketer here o/ honestly, I don’t think there’s any one answer
That said, my recommendation is always to ensure you have at least some visuals/gameplay ready - a mini vertical slice that shows at least the majority of the hook, even if short. Build traction from there!
Well, it looks like the cycle has gone full circle and the great game dev migration back to X has begun. Guess I need to be active again.
So, Hi.
I’m James and I get to work on and publish great little indie games as a job 👋 show me cool things
@MjTheHunter@JohnMugen Publisher here 👋
As the OP has noted on a few threads, not impossible - it’s just a lot, lot harder on the porting front as it requires an almost full rewrite of most of the libraries it utilises, as well as how it calls info. Optimisation can also be a nightmare.
@OlCrunchy@RetroGameFutur1@SEGA The people paying the bill to produce them.
Each level of cart memory costs more to produce. Paying for higher capacity that isn’t needed, means in turn you’re forced to pay more $$$ for them to recoup that cost.
@RetroGameFutur1@SEGA That is of course for them to make any meaningful ROI profits. Now, you may be fine with that price point. You may have bought it! But… the wider players v likely wouldn’t. It’s too high. Which becomes a bigger problem. Price people out or provide something for everyone
@RetroGameFutur1@SEGA Whilst, hugely agree - The problem comes down to overall file size vs cost. Just taking Yakuza 0 as an example - the directors cut is 50gb on Switch 2, meaning minimum cart size would need to be 64gb. 14gb wasted, but still requires a much higher price point to justify - €75-80+
@georgebsocial This data is slightly skewed though and not a simple picture - this slide wasn’t showing titles that have broken 100k that released in 2025 - this slide was showing ‘all time revenue’ - so, some of these titles could have taken 3, 4, 5 years to get to that figure.
@James_Batchelor It all is to be believed - the upcoming are potentially inspired by Indonesia.
I feel like the Nordics could be cool though. Or with the recent food inspirations - India.
