In a recent incident, 𝗦𝗮𝗺𝘀𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼𝗽-𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗿𝗲𝘁 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝘁𝗚𝗣𝗧 to help them with jobs. The company allowed engineers at its semiconductor arm to use the AI writer to help fix problems with their source code. But in doing so, the workers input confidential data, such as the source code for a new program and internal meeting notes data relating to their hardware. 

As a result, there were three documented instances of employees leaking critical information via ChatGPT in less than a month. These trade secrets from Samsung are now in the hands of OpenAI, the firm that created ChatGPT, 𝗮𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽𝘀 𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻𝗽𝘂𝘁 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗶𝘁𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳 𝗳𝘂𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿.

In response, Samsung Semiconductor is currently 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗜 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗯𝘆 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗳𝗳 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀, although they are only allowed to use 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗽𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗼 𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝟭𝟬𝟮𝟰 𝗯𝘆𝘁𝗲𝘀.

Another instance was a worker using ChatGPT to turn meeting notes into a presentation, the details of which Samsung did not want outside parties to be aware of.

Be aware that ChatGPT is 𝗻𝗼𝗻-𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝗨'𝘀 𝗚𝗗𝗣𝗥, and one of the reasons why Italy banned it. So, 𝗯𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗜 𝗯𝗼𝘁𝘀.
