Hard to believe not that many years ago I didn’t even know what long snapping was.

University of Wisconsin Eau Claire @UWECFootball long snapper @LoganVrieze didn’t have to travel very far to chase perfection…. Haha

Logan is going into his sophomore season at UWEC as the long snapper and wanted to improve himself and elevate the team as much as he can.

During our evaluation the biggest things that stood out were his hands being imbalanced, a lack of body control, and a high effort level.

We went to work fixing his grip and teaching him what balance can do to help his ball flight and control. After some small adjustments and drills he no longer struggled with the pull to the right he initially had.

Next was body control. If you can control your body, you’ll control the ball. Using the core and lower body to create stability makes a huge difference. Logan wasn’t ever using his core so this felt new to him.

Finally we focused on flow. If you don’t flow, you’ll struggle to find the right positions to control the body. Things like starting loose vs tight, bent elbows vs locked, and slow to fast made a big difference.

I’m looking forward to continuing to help Logan chase perfection!
