“How we present ourselves, how we communicate, how we treat one another, and the choices we make, all say something about our values.
When we reach a moment where we need to question ourselves, let us see it not as a reason for judgment, but as an opportunity to pause, reflect, and be part of the conversation.
We all have a role to play: families, churches, communities, leaders, and institutions.” - First Lady Mrs. Jeannette Kagame during the

WATCH: “Water and sanitation are not merely sectoral priorities; they are fundamental to public health, economic development, climate resilience, urbanisation, and human dignity.”
Minister of Infrastructure Damien Murwanashyaka during the opening of the Africa Water & Sanitation Systems Leadership Symposium 2026 at the Kigali Convention Centre.
#PoisonMuyaya continues to twist a day of remembrance for the victims of the Gatumba massacre into another platform for anti-Rwanda propaganda. The Banyamulenge who were slaughtered in 2004 by DRC's Burundian allies were Congolese. Their memory is not Kinshasa’s political tool, nor is it an invitation for selective outrage while the Kinshasa-sponsored FDLR & other genocidal remnants still operate with impunity on DRC soil, in violation of the Washignton Peace Agreement. Deliberately obscuring/distracting from the real sources of insecurity in eastern DRC is the core of "instrumentalisation".
This evening in Salzburg, President Kagame attended the 2026 @UEFA Super Cup, bringing together two Visit Rwanda partners: Paris Saint-Germain @PSG_inside, the reigning UEFA Champions League winners, and Aston Villa @AVFCOfficial, the UEFA Europa League winners and Visit Rwanda’s newest football partner.
As a survivor of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, the suffering of the Banyamulenge touches me deeply. The memories of Gatumba and the continued killings of Banyamulenge civilians remind us of the devastating consequences of hatred when innocent people are targeted because of who they are. My thoughts are with the survivors and the families still waiting for justice. We must never grow silent in the face of such crimes. #NeverAgain
