This is why I’m launch PATCHED. So moms can start celebrating the skills they’ve gained in motherhood, acknowledge the hard parts they’ve navigated, and bear witness to the changes as they unfold.
Also not just for working moms. All moms are managing complex ecosystems. 4/6
Managing working when your kid isn’t sleeping through the night, navigating summer schedules and childcare logistics, descalating a tantrum all before your morning coffee… these are management skills you couldn’t (or wouldn’t) pay to get.

These narratives leave us and corporate leaders thinking that #matresence is a bug in the system. Moms are hiding motherhood so they can be perceived as “having it all together”
But the reality is motherhood gives you clarity and grit you can apply to all areas of your life 2/6
The narrative around motherhood is broken.
We’ve been be told motherhood is a professional deficit. A “penalty” to be fixed and a “juggle” we need to hack.
Those narratives aren’t helping moms though.
The truth: Motherhood isn’t a problem. It’s a leadership premium. 1/6
Does anyone else find @washingtongas to be the absolute worst company to work with? The customer service is horrific and they don't consider it to be an emergency to not have heat, hot water, or gas.
Here in DC we typically LOVE experts. We are experts. We surround ourselves by experts. Yet, we're not listening to the very experts within our neighborhood, the CDC. It's time to reopen. #DCvsCDC
@MayorBowser we have shut down the city for sniffles or completely nothing (asymptomatic really means ZERO symptoms). We need to reopen, we need our kids in school, and we need our economy to return to normal. #DCvsCDC
@MayorBowser@DCMOCA when will the city allow DC to be a thriving and lively city again. Your policies have made DC an untenable place to live for families and we absolutely need DC to catch up.
Maternal mortality rates are embarrassingly high in US and it seems we’re finally ready to really look at this crisis and hopeful do something about it. #maternalhealth#maternalmortality My latest https://t.co/crBJzPTn78
I'm so happy to see this is finally going to be investigated. We have so much work to do as a city, but I hope this is just the first step to reducing the maternal mortality rates!
The District’s maternal mortality rate was 36.1 per 100,000 live births in 2018, while the national rate was 20.7, according to an analysis of data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
