A slice of city life I didn’t know about that makes me think and feel why I love this place — Making Space for Queer Community, Between Banquet Tables and Dim Sum Carts https://t.co/jCmY9LVMvf via @TheLocal_TO
I’m a day behind but, heck, it’s Saturday so I’m listening to my new favourite podcast in the bath. I wondered: Is there even a world where two men would share the microphone in this way? Says a lot.
Happy International Women’s Day! Whether you’re an aunt or …that other word that ends in u-n-t, we’re honoured to be fighting on the same team 🫡

@DavidPOLeary I got my first office job on the strength of my table waiting experience. My (then) boss said that she knew from it that I could hussle. Teaches you to multi-task, think on your feet, pivot and trouble shoot, work in teams and stay positive. Loved it.
Absolutely loved this wrap-up piece! Wonderful to be reminded of all the stellar journalism they put out and to feel the culture of the place too. A great group of talented Torontonians!!The Local’s 2023 Year in Review https://t.co/SaHSPbkSQz via @TheLocal_TO
Last week, I was happy to share the @TorontoFdn’s Vital Signs Report with City Council.
The report's findings are clear—building connection and supporting social infrastructure is important for our collective wellbeing. #PowerOfUs
An important editorial on the epidemic of loneliness and its causes in the Star today. Implications for the importance of true shared public space. https://t.co/uqA65H15jJ
#PowerOfUs Believer: Spotted at Dundas Square, @GenWellProject has been spreading civic optimism by hosting Talk To A Stranger Week! Research suggests that it may be a valuable way to increase happiness, feel a greater sense of belonging, build trust and create safer communities.
The 2023 Toronto’s Vital Signs Report is out now. It's time to reconnect and believe in Toronto again. Read the report and learn how you can take action: https://t.co/eDjhxX8hsT

Our new Toronto’s Vital Signs Report is coming soon and it’s different.
The data is clear. People are turning inward and giving up. If we want our city to succeed, we need people to believe in Toronto again. Join us Nov 15 as we change our city’s course: https://t.co/Gfky2yX5f1
@tagaq The worst part was if there was more than one extension so your mum or your little brother could listen in on your private conversations about skipping school or making out with someone...
@Manyoohoo@thesandrashamas Requires way too much sugar or other fruit in order to make it palatable and then there’s the stringy, gloopy texture. Heck I like pretty much everything but there’s a good reason why people give it away by the side of the road.
@WordsandGuitar I have a masters that has nothing to do with the work I ended up doing. Unless you're going to go for a doctorate I wouldn't count on a MA to make you employable. Instead, I would look at post-grad diplomas at the community colleges as they often involve internships or co-ops.
