MAJOR FINDING! NO consistency when it comes to young pup USV such as call rate individually BUT some did have a degree of consistency!!

[Julia Perlin @JuliaP143]

The call rate, shows a pattern that shows increased stability at certain times. The patterns over time is different vs other features of USV

[Julia Perlin @JuliaP143]

They examined the consistencies of the 8 different features and they found from this that in general it showed low consistency across days.

[Julia Perlin @JuliaP143]

and improve automated call detection. After calls were detected, features from each call were extracted. They then did a whole analysis.

[Julia Perlin @JuliaP143]

The males would be in the environment and listen to the recording of USV which were pup recordings. They created a method to filter noise--

[Julia Perlin @JuliaP143]

3. Adult males were taken from their babies and were housed alone for 24 hours before test time. They would then put the males into test.

[Julia Perlin @JuliaP143]

1. They got approval from the Animal Studies Committee in St.Louis at Washington University. 2.They recorded the USV on postnatal days 5,7,9

[Julia Perlin @JuliaP143]

Also, they did this because through the mouseTube platform, they have provided hundreds of recordings and data that will serve as a resource

[Julia Perlin @JuliaP143]

They chose to study this because they wanted to help researchers plan effective experiments and use specific ages to study USV behavior.

[Julia Perlin @JuliaP143]

They studied the USV in mice specifically which is a data-rich behavioral response which has many features in some domains of audio.

[Julia Perlin @JuliaP143]

The researchers studied these vocalizations in order to help them understand neurodevelopmental disorders which are related to growth.

[Julia Perlin @JuliaP143]

How do these mice communicate their anxieties after being separated? These mice express this by using vocalizations. They call out.

The mice developed separation anxiety when being separated from their mothers.
