Since March 6 in separate incidents across Southwest NS, including Hubbards over the weekend, fishery officers arrested 26 individuals who are under investigation for infractions of the Fisheries Act & Maritimes Provinces Fishery Regulations for the unauthorized harvest of elver.
Five individuals and three companies in the NS halibut fishery have been convicted of 18 charges laid in 2021 for violations of the Fisheries Act and Regulations.
