Jason Schreier shares new GTA 6 details:

- Pre-orders vastly surpassed Take-Two’s internal forecasts
- He expects the extended look on August 27 to offer “meaty” look at the actual gameplay
- Strauss Zelnick told him in an interview that when the extended look goes live, people will understand why they chose Netflix for the premiere and stated that it’s a “must-see event.”
- Schreier asked if it will feel like you’re watching a Netflix show, and Zelnick replied: “Yes.”
- This marketing strategy aims to reach a broader, non-gaming audience or people who might know GTA 6 exists but aren’t necessarily buying it day one
- Take-Two isn’t concerned about selling to a smaller audience, as the install base will be roughly the same as the install base was when we launched GTA 5
- Schreier also asked him if he has big plans for November 19 like holding a party or taking a break. To which Zelnick replied: “It’s ultra top secret at the moment , but at some point before then, I’ll be happy to talk about it.”

The GTA 6 extended look could show the beginning of Jason & Lucia’s crime life when they were younger.

The new artwork is vastly different from the previous ones, as Trailer 1’s artwork shows Lucia having an ankle monitor (after she got arrested) and Trailer 2 shows both characters in a police chase while they have injuries.

The last time Rockstar teased something 3 weeks in advance instead of shadow-dropping was for the first GTA 6 trailer in 2023.

This is going to be huge, but hopefully it doesn’t get leaked this time.

- 30 minutes long or more
- The iconic narrator, who was featured in GTAV & RDR2’s gameplay videos returns
- Gameplay showcasing new mechanics of Jason & Lucia robbing the store we saw in Trailer 1, which is highly possible as they’re both wearing similar bandanas and with the same car from the trailer
- Breakdown of core mechanics like character switching, driving, shooting, melee combat and the relationship between Jason & Lucia
- Deep dive into the world design, environments, technology, and map scale
- Cinematic cutscenes in addition to the gameplay
- More details about Jason, Lucia, and side characters
- Side activities details
- Behind the scenes at Rockstar North, interviews with devs, and even possibly Sam Houser addressing the game and giving a little talk
- Low chance but I’d like to see Jason and Lucia’s actors officially present themselves

We could potentially see backstories/flashbacks from Jason and Lucia’s past in the GTA 6 Extended Look, as Strauss Zelnick said it will feel like you’re watching a Netflix show:

- Jason is confirmed to be a former military paratrooper. He joined the Army to escape his troubled youth around crooks, so we could see his time in the military and how he eventually ended up working for drug runners in the Keys
- Lucia is confirmed to be from Liberty City, so we could see her early life there, her family struggles and the events that eventually landed her in prison

- GTA 6 pre-orders have gone much better than expected
- Rockstar understands that they need to exceed expectations and he believes they will
- More people pre-ordered the $100 edition, but that could be a reflection of the fact that the most avid consumers are the ones who are pre-ordering
- A Christmas discount isn’t expected as they tend to preserve the price for a very long time
- He refused to give any details about the Extended Look, and only stated that it will be worth watching
