@ArgyleBecky@afneil Give Andrew a regular spot to bring facts and structure to the debate. Other panelists would soon come better prepared and not spout such drivel. A permanent panelist works well enough on QI
@afneil Increase the efficiency of petrol and diesel cars, out back the ban to 2040. Stand back and watch the collapse of Chinese ev cars and the survival of European manufacturing
@sharrond62 Think the number is way bigger than 38k. We have to make up the £300m from those making a Net contribution, will have to seek hard to find enough tax payers putting more in than they take out
@GDrayton99654@griffitha We all consume government services which is something like £5-7k so we need to match the £300m with the net contributions (ie the amount above £5-k). Going to be rather more than 50,000 average workers
@griffitha@Jacob_Rees_Mogg The number needs to reflect the number of tax payers whose NET contributions match £300m. That’s going to be a very big number
@JuliaHB1@BBCNews How skilfully the BBC avoided reference to Scotland and Wales in the rankings.
Maybe the Michael Gove/Nick Gibb agenda for education was pretty good after all
@nishantkumar07 It’s rather worse than the example would suggest. Most tax payers are not net contributors. The music stops pretty quickly if we lose too many of those making significant net contributions
