Merci.
@mother_puker@play_eFootball@we_konami You can create an AgeKey on https://t.co/iE41rexZnW with FaE or your local ID and you can then use that to access even with your account set to Brazil.
@SnowHimbo@Saeren_@chin_134 AgeKey is never a requirement. Only ever an option. Important to give choice to users. Secondly there are many methods to provide proof of age (and you can choose the 1 site or vendor you are most confident with) & then you never have to share any data with any other site again
@SnowHimbo@Saeren_@chin_134 That is my point. There I no data to be had on an AgeKey. It never knows identity or user. So whenever someone’s used this there can never be any data breach as there is no repository. The AgeKey sits on your device just like a passkey.
@SnowHimbo@Saeren_@chin_134 And to your initial post this is by design not erasing anonymity on the internet It is actually bringing back as the double blind architecture ensures no traceability and no trackability of users. I am with you that privacy should be absolute.
@Saeren_@chin_134@SnowHimbo I nice demo site 😜- for sure ask away. This is designed to be transparent and user centric and was put in place because we have shared concerns over a world where IDs would be required to prove age and break the internet for everyone.
@SnowHimbo@Saeren_@chin_134 Yeah for sure & I get you. But it is 1 time versus 1000 times. I am not saying it is perfect my friend but in a world where age assurance is mandated by law for certain content then this is a far better way. Why even Free Speech Coalition that shares your distaste supports this
@Saeren_@chin_134@SnowHimbo Gotcha. This is just a demo site. Nobody is sent there to create agekeys as that happens 99% of time on participating platforms within app itself when users are given the option to save their own age signal. On demo site it would be using verifications methods provided by k-ID.
@Saeren_@chin_134@SnowHimbo can be to anonymize an mDL, digital ID, or save a first time verification done with any of the participating verification providers. Ones who have already announced participation are Socure, Persona, Incode, Veratad, k-ID
@Saeren_@chin_134@SnowHimbo OpenAge does not do any verification itself. It is simply the common framework that platforms can rely upon for their users to be able to bypass the need to ever present ID or biometrics again. Source of the underlying signal that enables to create the AgeKey are public:
@Saeren_@chin_134@SnowHimbo You are correct. Designed explicitly to address rightful privacy concerns in a world age assurance mandates are spreading. Never tied to and never knows identity. No traceability. Always user controlled and optional. This is specifically to ensure (restore) anonymity.
@SnowHimbo I think you misunderstand what this initiative is designed for. Specifically to address the rightful concerns around privacy. There is no central database and it ensures full anonymity online. No tracking or tracing of users. No PII. Always user controlled and optional.
