So unbelievably excited and overwhelmed to be heading to Duke for IM residency @IMResidencyDuke ! and to FINALLY getting to be with @guetta_rachel after 7(!) years of mostly long distance. Extremely grateful to all the friends, family, and mentors who helped me get there.

Not one to share much personal stuff on here, but this one's too important not to. I couldn't be luckier or more excited to spend forever together with @guetta_rachel.
Thanks to Chris Githire for capturing the moment.

A reminder that you can still get an abortion in both North and South Carolina (for now).
@CarolinaAbtnFnd is doing great work to make this as easy as possible for those who make the decision to have an abortion, and donating to them is a great way to support their work.
On the day that I officially become a resident, today's decision is a reminder that "politics" intimately affects how we practice as healthcare providers, and we are well within our lane to participate in any and all forms of advocacy in both our professional and personal life.

CT just expanded HUSKY for undocumented kids 12 and under 👏😍 A victory, but healthcare is a human right and no one should be denied a chance at survival —regardless of their age.

With US #COVID19 deaths hovering ~1,000/day, people have asked how this compares to #influenza deaths in typical year. Here 10 years of CDC data. *We are still an order of magnitude higher than Flu* Need to fund #COVID relief now, and stop pretending this is acceptable.

First learned about Paul Farmer through a book someone recommended me: Infections and Inequities. It pushed me further toward infectious diseases and made me want to understand more about how intertwined infections and social illness are, and how to break that cycle. A huge loss.
Partners In Health announced that its founder, Dr. Paul Farmer, unexpectedly passed away today in his sleep while in Rwanda.
Dr. Farmer was 62 years old. He is survived by his wife, Didi Bertrand Farmer, and their three children.
