Many of my patients are ‘depressed’ for a reason; Debt, relationship problems, housing issues, a bad boss and so on Giving antidepressants is unlikely to help much. Bit like a high blood sugar for someone with T2diabetes is likely to be caused by; bananas, toast, rice and so on Before we medicate perhaps investigate causation ???

The NHS was originally set-up to Prevent, Diagnose and Treat. It has done these things in reverse order. A more proactive approach would have been to focus on prevention which might have avoided being now so overwhelmed.
It was about 2016 that we stopped worrying about dietary cholesterol !! Dietary cholesterol in my experience has very little relationship to serum cholesterol
