New bodycam footage was released today showing the arrest of the driver after a pickup truck drove through a toll booth onto a Volusia County beach in Daytona Beach Shores, killing a toll worker.

The toll booth attendant, Tammie Jo Baker, was just a few weeks shy of her 63rd birthday. The driver, 36-year-old Deanna Harrell of Ormond Beach, was driving approximately 40 mph when she struck the booth. After the impact she continued toward the water before getting stuck in the sand.

Bystanders ran to the truck and pulled her out. Deputies reported a heavy odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle. Sheriff Mike Chitwood said “I think she was probably close to being killed on impact.” Tammie Jo Baker went to work that Monday afternoon and never came home. Deanna Harrell is in custody.
