@tylerblack32 @FourWinns298 these impacts won’t show in real time data as people typically turn to counselling or meds (demand for both has ⬆️ through pandemic) before resorting to suicide. Mental health funding is needed now more than ever to mitigate impacts of lockdowns and prevent future suicide risk.
@tylerblack32 @FourWinns298 Data shows increases in incidences and severity of mental health over course of pandemic and lockdowns. Data also shows adverse childhood experiences are a strong predictor of suicide risk. Lockdowns, while necessary, have impacted mental health and ACES and 2/3
@Kyr0Nagib Day 2 of homeschool, my 6 yr old asked if Santa accepts returns. He wants to send his LEGO set back so he can ask Santa to make COVID go away instead😢💔.
@OlegRoslak @FourWinns298 Maybe, if you’re comfortable using a single point in time metric to evaluate the trajectory of a global pandemic and virus with long term effects that we still don’t fully understand.
Today in ON the largest donation ($50 million) to community-based mental health and addictions services was made to @CMHAWW for a youth wellness hub. Woohoo! #onpoli#MH4Kids#cymh
There’s been a lot of sad and traumatic events to process this week. Very tough to process it all during a pandemic. We are always here for you. Literally 24/7. Give us a call. @CMHAWW
@tweettweetgr @imgrund E.g. pregnant individuals became eligible before educators in most regions. In 2020, 81% of EFTO members were female and 75% of those females were between 20-40 yrs of age... how many of them qualified due to pregnancy? We don’t know. That’s one example. The data isn’t perfect.
@tweettweetgr @imgrund This percentage only includes educators who selected that as their eligibility criteria. Those who met earlier eligibility criteria or who chose a different option are not counted because the system doesn’t collect employment data- just eligibility category.
@TorontoStar It’s clear that we won’t reach a consensus on this. This is why we have a Premier... to lead the Province by making timely, tough decisions based on advice from experts (which he has a plethora of already). Instead, he’s playing games with polls and optics.
@OpinionsRMine2@RyanJBlack@tylerblack32@ashleypmiller The thing there is no question about is that parents, children/youth and many educators need access to mental health and/or addiction supports now. No waitlists. The mental health and addictions sector needs a fully funded healthcare strategy now. #everythingisnotokay
@OpinionsRMine2@RyanJBlack@tylerblack32@ashleypmiller 4/ increase in addiction, increased onset of mental health issues and increased severity of preexisting mental health issues... this list goes on. @tylerblack32 is right in saying that opening schools is complicated, with good and bad outcomes on both sides of the decision.
We're sharing the message throughout #MentalHealthWeek that when it comes to emotions, it’s important to name it, don’t numb it. https://t.co/U4fSjqLRJk #GetReal
