I've worked with thousands of teachers in every content area preK-12 on boosting our practice for an ever-changing world.
Here are my top 3 low-lift, high-impact shifts. 🧵
Students do not struggle because they cannot learn.
They struggle because learning does not transfer.
If knowledge only works in one format, it is fragile. Teaching for concepts helps ideas stick and travel.

The biggest shift happens when students see learning as something they can use.

One-time only professional learning doesn’t make a lasting impact. All learners—adults included—need time and space to integrate new knowledge into existing frameworks, practice, receive feedback, and reflect.
Happy Monday! Let's crush the week. What are your routines for getting in a good mood? Mine are music, inspirational coffee mugs, hugs from my vivacious children.
Happy Monday and shoutout to all the educators giving their all to empowering students to navigate a complex, ever-changing world (even when that's really, really hard work). You are appreciated!
Happy Monday to all those who believe students can change the world with their learning. This is what the world demands and our children deserve! #patternseekers
Happy Monday to all the educators who know in their hearts that there must be a better way to empower students to navigate our changing world. I see you and I'm with you!
Happy Monday to all of the educators out there who believe that fostering a love of learning and knowing how to learn are just as important as explicit knowledge and discrete skills. #howtolearn#patternseeker#lifelonglearning
Teaching strengthens understanding. It leads to thinking critically about how to teach concepts and communicating ideas to students in different ways. These skills are important to model for students as we strive to equip them with the tools to do the same with their learning.🙌
When we ask students to explain their thinking to their peers in their own words, they have to thinking critically and deeply. It's a powerful strategy that is worth the time spent!
