@FrumpyCatt My guess is MobLand Season 3 was heading into a complete mess creatively, and Tom Hardy saw the writing on the wall early. Actors like him don’t usually walk away from strong projects for no reason.

@Whobugs I wasn't actually in the theater for that first viewing experience 😄, but what always stands out to me about Maverick is how many people had the exact reaction you did.

@Whobugs I completely agree 😄. Maverick had every reason to disappoint and somehow did the exact opposite. It respected the original while raising the bar in almost every way. The flying sequences were incredible, but what really surprised me was how much heart the story had.
