2023 has been the Year of the Union Worker — and I’m particularly proud of the leadership role that women of Labor played on picket lines and at bargaining tables to build power for working families.
#CADEM Women lead the way in the fight for our rights, freedoms and union jobs!
The problem with teaching is that it’s really 2 jobs packaged as 1. You teach all day, then have to spend more hours planning, marking, doing data. Then you get a responsibility & it becomes 3 jobs & now you’ve got more plates to spin & 3 jobs but no extra hours in the day.
Let’s be okay with teachers playing games with their students, having class parties, and putting on a movie the last couple days before a major break. We should trust teachers’ discretion, and kids deserve to have fun.
What’s expected from teachers right now is not realistic. They can’t both teach curriculum & also single handedly emotionally recover the children of this nation after/through the many traumas they are living.
It’s a ridiculous expectation please stop asking them to do this.
I trained as a gymnast under Larry Nassar. I know what a pedophile and a groomer are. It’s not a teacher with an “All Are Welcome” sign. It’s not a librarian who has award winning books on their shelves. Love your kids. Thank a teacher. Donate to a library. Cut the shit.
Congratulations LHS Senior, Grant Martinez, on being named to the 2022 @msboa_org All State Band.
‘Grant is so deserving of this honor & all of us at Lamphere are so proud of him,” Michael Garvey, Lamphere’s Band Director @lampherebands@mdgMI@JulieMMartinez#wearelamphere
Don’t get it twisted while we’re in this chaos. There’s hella educators out here working with equity at the center, cultivating joy with students, and doing what needs to be done. Love to you 💕
