As home to one-sixth of the world’s population, Africa will be majorly affected by #ClimateChange, yet the region only contributes ~2% of current global emissions. (1/4)
Together with our #FFI team, I had the privilege of meeting with various governments in Kenya, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Namibia, Cameroon and the DRC to discuss how #GreenHydrogen projects could help unlock positive outcomes for their communities, their country and the planet. (3/4)
It was a privilege to be among leaders from the private sector who are focused on working together to accelerate our transition to a sustainable future. 🙌
CEO, @JulieShuttlewth, shares how @FortescueFuture is leading by example, developing equipment that runs on renewable electricity, which doesn't exist today in mining operations.
"We can learn so much working together to solve the climate crisis." #TerraCarta
It was a privilege to be part of developing a standard that will ensure consumers know they are buying truly green hydrogen, which is produced in a sustainable way and delivers opportunities for communities around the world. 🌎
The planet is cooking, and #GreenHydrogen is the practical and implementable solution we need to decarbonise some of the hardest to abate sectors.
This week I joined a panel at #GH2Assembly to launch the first global definition of #GreenHydrogen, for certification and labelling.
By bringing together expertise from many different segments along the value chain, we’re enabling the development of technologies which are critical to accelerating the #GreenEnergy transition. 🌏
Automotive component manufacturer @UnipartGroup have joined forces with @WilliamsAdvEng to form @Hyperbat_Ltd, an exciting joint venture exploring and building innovative battery technology. 🔋
I recently toured the facility with our #FFI and WAE teams to learn more about the production line process that goes behind building high-capacity batteries which are designed to fit around existing vehicle frames – perfect for decarbonising mining haul trucks!
As we were leaving, we noticed a book about the Pilbara on the reception table. Apparently, the book has been sitting there for years, well before Fortescue’s acquisition of the company earlier this year! This partnership was meant to be! 🤝
They’ve been hard at work as part of our Green Fleet team, developing battery tech projects to help decarbonise @FortescueNews, such as our battery-electric and #GreenHydrogen powered mining haul trucks, plus our Infinity Train.
It was a privilege to join the Sustainable Market Initiative Dinner at Buckingham Palace, hosted by His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales, where I met with leaders from the private sector who are working together to accelerate our transition to a sustainable future.
It was great to join the panel for @ceda_news' webinar ‘Australia’s climate choices: State of the Nation 2022’ to explain why #GreenHydrogen makes business sense and how shareholders are responding to the #GreenEnergy transition amid rising cost of #FossilFuel.
Today we welcomed Christiaan Heyning to the #FFI team as our new Head of Decarbonisation! 👏 He’s jumping on board to help deliver our world leading effort to decarbonise Fortescue and subsequently heavy industry worldwide. 🌎
Say hello to our new Head of Decarbonisation, Christiaan Heyning, who will help deliver our world leading effort to decarbonise @FortescueNews and heavy industry worldwide and will work across the Fortescue and FFI teams to achieve our emissions reductions targets.
It was great to spend time with our team working on projects to trial hydrogen, ammonia and battery power #GreenEnergy technologies for locomotives, ship engines, haul trucks and drill rigs. 👷♀️
Last week I visited our @FortescueFuture Green Fleet team, who are working on innovative technologies that will help decarbonise @FortescueNews' operations.
This week I joined the panel on the Engineers Australia webinar ‘Thought Leaders Series: A Fair Net Zero Transition’ hosted by Stan Krpan, to talk about the role #GreenHydrogen will play in the race to #NetZero. (3/3)
