Statement from the HotelPlanner Tour.
Given the ongoing situation in the Middle East, the decision has been made to reschedule back-to-back events in the UAE that were due to take place next month.
The RAKBANK UAE Challenge will remain at Al Zorah Golf & Yacht Club and will now take place from September 24-27,with the Abu Dhabi Challenge at Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting & Golf Club the following week, running from October 1-4.
These tournaments will now follow straight after the Open de Portugal and directly before back-to-back events in China. This change in the schedule prioritises the safety of all members, whilst also ensuring that playing opportunities are maximised, with 29 tournaments still on the Road to Mallorca schedule.
Whilst the two tournaments have been rescheduled, this is an evolving situation that we will continue to monitor very closely.
Riv is the best course I’ve played, many different holes, some easy like the 1st, some really hard like 2nd or 12th. Different dog legs, par 3s are good. And 10 is extra special. Makes for a really cool golf course to play. Downside for the Poa greens: really bad in afternoon.
Riviera is touted every year as the best course on the PGA Tour.
But…it has a bizarre quirk.
Jack. Tiger. Rory. Scottie. None have won here.
Is Riviera really the best course on Tour if the winner seems a bit random?
If the test never ends with the best players winning?
Riviera is one of my favorite golf courses and one of my favorite places on earth. But why can’t the best win here? It’s not for lack of trying. They have played to dozens and dozens of times.
My theory for recent times is that majors select for long hitters.
Riviera selects for accurate hitters.
This means the very best at the most important events (The Majors) aren’t necessarily the guys who should be the favorites at Riv.
That said, Scottie will win at Riv. Book it.
"This is the best swing in the world. There are no better swings than this one. I've played with all of them, other than Phil Mickelson, but I played with Tiger and all of them. This kid is top three of the players who've impressed me the most."
@plarrazabal is a huge fan of Angel Ayora's golf swing 🤝

20 years after turning pro, roughly 11 trips to Q-school, 229 DP starts, 190 Challenge Tour starts. Now his first DP win.
Yes I know the stars drive money and ratings but these stories are a small but important part of the pro golf too.
