@ntepperman@NDP@DonDavies@GordJohns@jo_gauvin @howard_jennifer How do people like this get hired by the UN?
...also...nominating people for the Nobel Peace Prize isn't really a thing
@AriaIrene Also the UI
There's information I get easily from reading a webpage on my laptop
But which is too annoying to access on my phone
I use ChatGPT in those cases
Presumably, almost everyone accesses the internet on mobile devices in Sierra Leone...
@DouglasTodd@tomblackwellNP Yup
We've been in a recession for decades
It's artificially covered up in the data
Immigration hides the collapse of per capita GDP
But the biggest problem is fake GDP from non-productive activities which extract rent and contribute nothing (raw natural resources, banking)
@DouglasTodd@scoopercooper This could also just be meddling from CSIS
They've been known to bully Prime Ministers
I wouldn't trust anything from them without ample and conclusive evidence
@DouglasTodd A simple measure: age
AKA give it to the youngest people
IF there are 3 units AND 10 people apply THEN give it to the 3 youngest
Might be an alternative approach which would be better on paper. But the simplicity and knowability of this measure might make it the best
@brianlilley In the words of Yoda: "You must unlearn what you have learned"
Unlearning is the hardest thing for people
A smart 16 year old with 0 skills usually does a better job than a lifelong non-performer
This is why startups never hire bigco bureaucrats. And often hire young people
@brianlilley Carney is a bureaucrat who has never done anything other than get along with the right people
...he now needs to perform for the first time in his life
His years of "experience" actually make it harder to perform
Since his non-performing ways as so deeply engrained
