As we mark the first annual UN Peacebuilding Week, I am highlighting the EU’s role in supporting peacebuilding efforts across the globe. Today I am sharing a statement together with @EUSR_Dialogue Peter Sørensen, the EU Special Representative for the Belgrade-Pristina Dialogue.
Joined a panel on resolving unfinished business in the Balkans and had good first meetings with Slovenia’s FM @TKajzer and Hungarian State Secretary @AmbassadorKlara at @DubrovnikForum. A timely reminder that partnerships are key to the region’s stability and EU future.
@EddyWax Simply terrible. Nowhere to seat. No shade. No grass. And I fear it will be a mess comes the rain. Not to mention soulless, with the white concrete.
Kosovo’s democratic and inclusive election opens the door to turn the page after more than a year of political deadlock.
Political leaders now need to engage constructively to ensure the swift formation of government.
Progress in the Belgrade-Pristina Dialogue and the normalisation of relations with Serbia remains essential for advancing on Kosovo’s European path.
A pleasure to accompany @eucopresident Costa on his visit to Kosovo and Serbia. Good to see commitment to normalisation, reconciliation, good neighborly relations and a 🇪🇺 future for all citizens in the Western Balkans.
It is a pleasure to be back in Belgrade.
In my meetings with @avucic@anabrnabic and civil society organisations I emphasised that the EU remains Serbia’s most significant partner – in trade, investment and in strengthening democratic institutions.
We are ready to do more. But the pace of progress depends on Serbia’s own resolve.
It is important to continue to accelerate reforms in areas like rule of law, electoral reform and media freedom.
The accession process is not only a task for the government. It needs the entire mobilisation of the Serbian society.
Time is of the essence. The EU’s door remains open, but the window for decisive action is now.
In Belgrade, I reaffirmed the EU's continued commitment to Serbia’s European perspective.
Enlargement is based on building trust. The road ahead is demanding but the path is clear.

Today I am in Pristina to reaffirm the EU’s continued support to Kosovo.
I will meet the acting President @albulenahaxhiu_ , the caretaker Prime Minister @albinkurti and leaders of opposition parties.
As Kosovo heads to elections this weekend, my message is simple: our partnership comes with responsibility.
I encourage political leaders to make EU integration a priority, beyond political divisions, and to work together towards this shared goal.
Kosovo needs strong, stable and functioning institutions capable of implementing reforms, seizing the opportunities the European Union offers and delivering on all Belgrade-Pristina Dialogue commitments.
The EU is the Western Balkans' primary and most reliable partner.
The #EUWesternBalkans summit, taking place on Friday 5 June in Tivat, Montenegro, will be an opportunity for the EU to reiterate its unequivocal commitment to the EU membership perspective of the Western Balkans.

With 🇦🇱 FM @HoxhaFer, I spoke about the Dialogue on normalisation between Kosovo and Serbia. Underlined there will be no bilateralisation of the Dialogue. It stays an EU-facilitated process between Kosovo and Serbia. Both parties need normalisation to advance on their EU paths.
Following our meeting last week in BXL, continued my exchange with Kosovo FM @KonjufcaGlauk on the EU-facilitated Dialogue on normalisation of relations with Serbia. Focused on the way forward, the implementation of the law on foreigners and the importance of sustained engagement
