Where should AI sit in your delivery process - and where should it stay out?

I'm Boris and I created Claude Code. Lots of people have asked how I use Claude Code, so I wanted to show off my setup a bit.
My setup might be surprisingly vanilla! Claude Code works great out of the box, so I personally don't customize it much. There is no one correct way to use Claude Code: we intentionally build it in a way that you can use it, customize it, and hack it however you like. Each person on the Claude Code team uses it very differently.
So, here goes.
We have an article from the archives to share!

@MaxMartelo@swissborg Making mistakes is part of the process. Learning from them shows humility. Making them fast makes you beat the clock. And sharing your lessons learnt is the most noble thing!
So happy to see you guys thriving, looking forward for our next semi-therapy session 😂
We failed at 50% of our hires.
Here’s everything we wish we knew earlier about hiring: 🧵
So for nearly 2 years, we’ve been hopping on weekly calls with @Julien_Deray a senior engineering manager from @swissborg
He coached us through recruiting, team culture, organization… and sometimes just listened when we were burnt.
Here’s what we learned:
1️⃣ Hire missionaries, not mercenaries
First time I heard about this one was from @DLophem
-> Having a nice CV is overrated.
-> Give-a-shit is underrated.
You need people who care about the mission.
Who want to build the product.
Who are obsessed with solving the problem your company is tackling.
2️⃣ 5-axis hiring framework
-> Drive: Why are you even here?
-> Self-awareness: Do you know what you suck at?
-> Team spirit: How do you manage a critical situation with your team?
-> Leadership: Can you pull others forward?
-> Expertise: Do you actually know your craft?
3️⃣ In interviews, this is what I'm looking for and what I ask:
-> Mission-driven: Do they give a shit? If you have a product live, did they try it before the interview?
-> Curious: What book would you recommend and why?
-> Hard worker: What’s the hardest you’ve ever worked on something, and why did you care?
-> Values: What values do you want in your next opportunity?
-> Vision: Where do you see yourself in 3-5 years?
-> Always learning: Teach me something you recently learned.
-> Character: What are you most proud of in life? What are you most embarrassed/regretful about?
These questions dig deep.
You’ll know in 10 minutes who gives a damn and who’s playing dress-up.
4️⃣ Trial periods are not optional
People show their true colors in the doing.
Are they proactive? Curious?
Do they ask “what’s next?” or wait to be told?
Shoutout to Julien for being our part-time therapist.
If you're a founder: treat hiring like product-market fit.
Don’t settle for people who just want a job.
Find people who want your mission to win.
Everything else flows from there.
