@PNWRadTrad @5ratsandfries @OPB@alex_zee And if social safety nets didn't work, than why is the United States facing these problems that other first world countries that actually have government programs that protect their citizens from extreme poverty aren't?
@PNWRadTrad @5ratsandfries @OPB@alex_zee No, you can't. The math isn't "poor people have bad spending habits" it's "the wealth gap has gotten so extreme and costs have risen so dramatically that we're facing a cost of living crisis."
You can't save money when you have less of it and everything costs more.
@PNWRadTrad @5ratsandfries @OPB@alex_zee I know for a fact I'm not the only one.
You can't "fiscal responsibility" your way out of a housing and cost of living crisis. The government is failing people and not doing what we're paying for. You're blaming individuals and paying the government to not fix the problem.
@PNWRadTrad @5ratsandfries @OPB@alex_zee Those of us who "walk the walk" are actively already sharing our houses, you just don't see it because it's not on the street.
This is such an idiotic talking point. We pay the city already to provide services for people. Asking them to actually do that isn't unreasonable.
@DailyPundit@OsherL@maxwelltani @KarlBode @nytimes I love that you're saying this in all sincerity when the core issue is the blatantly biased reporting by NYT.

@opinonhaver How people interact with computers has changed in the last few years. UIs have become simpler, many products existing in their own ecosystems that can't really be changed. We don't have to know how things work to get them to work anymore.
@JesseKIRO7 @ICutTheRedWire@billylongass @DawnEMcKenzie I agree that card skimmers are a big problem that should be dealt with. Making EBT cards as secure as debit cards would be a great way to do that.
But that's different from fraudulent EBT claims, which is what I thought the discussion was about.
@ICutTheRedWire@billylongass @JesseKIRO7 @DawnEMcKenzie EBT is audited and means tested all the time and there's absolutely zero evidence of widescale fraud. In fact, it costs more to investigate than it recovers in wasted spending.
Unless there's OTHER evidence that says otherwise, this claim can be dismissed with a "nope".
