Exactly one year ago today, we kîllled a snàke inside our house… and the scary part is that we didn’t even know there were three of them. 😭🐍
That evening, we were all outside in the compound gisting as usual. My nephew suddenly went inside the house to pick something.
Not even up to a minute later, he came running out, shouting that he saw a snake crawling on the parlour floor.
At first, nobody took him seriously.
This boy loves silly pranks, so we all thought he was joking again. But something felt different this time… he looked genuinely scared and refused to go back inside. That alone made us start thinking maybe he was actually telling the truth.
We all walked to the entrance of the house, but guess what?
Nobody was bold enough to open the door. 😩
There was no man at home, so we quickly called our landlord. Unfortunately, he wasn’t around either. It took him about 20 minutes before he finally arrived.
When he came, he opened the door and led the way inside while the rest of us followed carefully behind him.
We got to the parlour… but there was no snàke.
We searched everywhere.
Behind chairs.
Inside the kitchen.
The toilet.
My sister’s room.
Under the fridge.
We literally scattered the whole house… yet nothing.
At that point, people started doubting my nephew.
Some said maybe he imagined it because it was already night.
But he kept insisting he clearly saw it moving and raising its head.
Meanwhile, my own head was already spinning because the thought of sleeping in that house without finding the snake was terrifying. I knew sleep would not even come near me that night.
Just when everyone had almost given up on the search and concluded there was probably no snake, something suddenly crossed my mind.
We hadn’t checked my room.
While they were still discussing outside, I told one of the boys that followed us to come and help me check.
Immediately we entered, my eyes went straight to a bag of clothes lying on the floor.
I didn’t even have the courage to touch it, so I told the boy to shift it.
The moment he lifted the bag…
I jumped for my life.
Right there was a long snàke curled up on the floor. 😭🐍
Everybody rushed in immediately.
Our landlord quickly grabbed his shovel and hit the snake on the head.
And that was how we managed to escape that night from that dangerous creature.
But here’s the shocking part…
That snàke was not alone.
We later discovered that there were actually
THREE snàkes inside our house.
And the other two were still hiding somewhere.
We only discovered them one week later…
The way and the place we found the remaining two snakes will shock you.
Stay tuned… I’ll drop that story in my next post. 👀🐍
