This was the punditry line-up at the last Women’s World Cup. One man, everyone else former women’s players.

Nobody has an issue with female PRESENTERS getting the top jobs in football broadcasting if they’re the best at what they do, it’s a completely different job.

But punditry is different. Asking people with no experience of elite men’s football to analyse the men’s game is like putting a Sunday League player on a Champions League panel.

And before anyone starts, I feel exactly the same about the FM experts and fan representatives Sky Sports wheel out who have never even kicked a ball at any level, never mind professional.

Presenters ≠ pundits. Not sure why people keep confusing the two, presenting is a broadcasting profession and the best people should get those roles regardless of gender.

We’re paying good money to hear from the very best (like Rooney, Henry, Zlatan etc) and deserve better.
