Hakataramea Station used to run the length of the Haka Valley & over the Haka Pass. Over time it has slowly reduced. The main homestead is still located below Mt Milne & Kirkliston where @nz_farmers @pregtester posted the woodshed/deershed pics. Map in pic shows mountains in area

Couldn’t stretch it out to enjoy another Haka Station lunch today but stayed long enough for smoko, thanks @Julietrichgray
Went via Danseys Pass to next job, not quite a shortcut but avoiding traffic jams is guaranteed.

Back in the Haka deer shed this morn, the crush area is where velveting takes place and as a food product the facilities nowadays look like this @Julietrichgray

Very fond of this shed, spent a lot of hours in it over the years, built in 1866 as a 22 stand woolshed.

Amongst the crew today were two 13 year olds and a 17 year old. They tirelessly and more than capably filled the pens all day and can’t wait to be back in the shed in the morn.
(That’s not a Gen Z in the pen beside me)
