Perhaps there is no greater expression of self governance than communities recognizing their collective power, speaking with one voice & taking the lead in defending their land & homes. On Saturday, together with @HakiYetuOrg , I was honoured to stand alongside communities from the 6 Sub-Counties of Mombasa during the launch of the Jamvi la Ardhi na Makao Mombasa Forum as they came together to build solidarity around a shared vision for justice & accountability. In a powerful demonstration of collective commitment, more than 26 community leaders took a historic step by committing themselves to a common agenda through the signing of MoUs that will that will guide their solidarity in challenging land injustices & resisting utawala mbaya that continues (even 63 years after self-rule) to deny many communities secure land rights & dignified housing. #NotYetMadaraka #Alutacontinua #Revolutioniscoming
