A lot of people are under the mistaken impression that progress means advances in tech. Real progress is kids who are literate, free meals for public school students, a culture in which human art & poetry are celebrated. We're regressing rapidly & the only way forward is to read.
@NinaPanickssery I know many boomer grandparents who are literally killing themselves with childcare duties - women with autoimmune disorders/poor health who are working long unpaid hours looking after grandchildren, travelling miles each day to ferry them around & constantly ill.
@Autistic_Lauren Don't like them and don't use them but will do if my eyesight gets worse. I find listening to people for long periods hard though - I tend to zone out.
