🚨Thibaut Courtois on Senne Lammens’ performances for Belgium since the World Cup:

🗣️ “They blamed Senne Lammens for Belgium’s World Cup elimination, and this is how he has responded.

Two Nations League games for Lammens:

12 saves
1 goal conceded
1 clean sheet

And he’s only 24 years old.

People need to remember what happened at the World Cup. Lammens was thrown into a huge quarter-final against Spain after I had to come off injured.

He had only made two appearances for Belgium before that game. He didn’t have much experience playing at international level, and he certainly didn’t have much experience playing alongside those defenders.

So if he was nervous in that moment, I think that is understandable.

Goalkeepers need time to build an understanding with their defence. You learn each other’s movements, communication and positioning by playing together regularly.

Look at how he has responded since then. He has come back, played for Belgium and shown that he has the quality to be here.

Senne is still learning, and I believe he will only get better with more experience.” 🇧🇪👀
