After waiting through the night outside King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, a 53-year-old woman chose to remain at the hospital to pay her respects to Princess Bajrakitiyabha.
“Whenever she met elders, she always showed respect. She never overlooked ordinary people. Even when meeting members of the public, she would often greet them first with a wai and kind words. She treated people warmly and informally, not as a royal addressing subjects, but as one citizen speaking to another,” she said.
“Her Royal Highness devoted her life to the service of her country and people.”

A Princess of the Nation
Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendiradebyavati was the eldest daughter of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn and Her Royal Highness Princess Soamsawali Krom Muen Suddhanarinatha.
She was also the first grandchild of His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great and Her Majesty the late Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother.
Her Royal Highness pursued her education in Thailand and abroad, earning qualifications in law and developing expertise in legal affairs, diplomacy and international relations. Throughout her life, she devoted herself to royal duties for the benefit of the Thai people and the nation.
As a diplomat, Her Royal Highness served with leadership, dedication and selflessness. Her grace, dignity, knowledge and discernment earned widespread admiration.
