@anthonywinker6@cheesetrader1 I understand it evens out over time, but it could also be (mostly) even every time instead.
It wouldn't be super complex to put the conference into competitive tiers, and insure each team gets an even amount of H/A matchups from each tier
@cheesetrader1@anthonywinker6 You get disparities in every version. 3 doubles also benefits some teams and hurts others.
I think schedule this year was rushed, though (because the conf tournament was rushed)... MN/NE/WI/PSU/Purdue are the clear top teams, no reason NE should host 3 of them, and WI only 1.
@JSteppe1 This feels too aggressive... When the premier matches are neutral site and not included with SSH prices, plus less games overall, hard to argue that value is increased this much.
My ticket resales were always at a loss already... not sure the market is there for these prices.
@cheesetrader1@BadgerVB For NCAA tournament, 1-4 playing twice doesn't make a huge difference. While 5-10 only hurt each other's tournament resumes.
Unbalanced mostly hurts bubble teams in all options (lose 2x to top team = neutral or bad, lose to a 5-10 team = bad, play a lower team = neutral or bad).
@cheesetrader1@BadgerVB Play everyone once makes more sense than an unbalanced (while also trying to be fair) amount of conference matches.
Main concern is whether fans completely lose 1-2 home matches, or will quality non-con HOME games be added.
Results of the regular season still mean the same.
@JonAriasRadio@ESPNMadison Whole situation is weird and interesting... You almost never hear Kelly talk about specific player situations (injury, internal discussions, etc), you can tell it's been frustrating.
@JonAriasRadio@KellyPSheffield Early in the season, coach made a comment that this could be one of his better serving teams that he's had... How would he evaluate this year's performance now?
@JonAriasRadio@KellyPSheffield Everyone in our regional is a familiar opponent (Texas would be 4th meeting in 2 years, Indiana you play every year, played vs Stanford last year)...
How do you weigh the scouting of an opponent's recent performances vs your previous experiences with that program or coach?
@JonAriasRadio@KellyPSheffield Additional question: what are coach's thoughts on liberos setting vs platform passing behind the 10ft line? Setting isn't something I've noticed UW liberos doing in recent years, but starting to see more of it when watching other matches.
@JonAriasRadio@KellyPSheffield You and Gary talk in interviews about how fast the opposing offenses run... How does your tempo compare vs the BigTen and other elite teams?
Follow-ups: do you change tempo for specific matchups/teams? If Charlie is out for a bit, does that impact tempo either direction?
