@Darket696 This is my assumption as well. They’ll make an external disc drive to play your prior generations’ physical collection.

PlayStation has no incentive to remove the ability to play your old games on their new hardware.

@KeezTheFlex I can never play more than two games at a time. And even when I play two, they have to be dramatically different. Like one narrative-focused JRPG and the other a farm sim or something like that lol.

Usually I just stick to one at a time, though.

If PS6 is going to cost close to $1000, I think Sony needs as much good will from its most dedicated fans as possible.

It’s often the hardcore fans that evangelize something and influence a wider audience to pick it up. So I think Sony should also listen to its most dedicated fans too IMO.

Jason Schreier encourages gamers to go and visit local libraries on his video about why is Playstation killing physical media. Your local library often has new game releases you can borrow for free. It is a good way to save money and also help the library get more funding.

I still struggle to comprehend why PlayStation is cutting physical discs out *entirely*.

I’d understand scaling down mass production of discs and making it more of a boutique thing instead. But fully turning away from them is such a weirdly aggressive decision.
