@JamesSurowiecki I’m sure an mlb player could make a penalty kick in soccer but I don’t see a soccer player getting a hit, striking a batter out or even doing anything metric positive on a baseball field.
@JATmallet I’m pretty sure elite athletes of other sports could make penalty kicks on occasion more frequently than soccer players accomplishing other feats as you mentioned.
@adamdnathan@CoachPapaJohn@robstaton@mookiealexander FFS your guys can’t kick a round ball into a large goal from 30 yards in every time. You act like every shot attempt in soccer is on goal and many are wide right, left and high.
@SenWarren Great idea. Go ahead and donate your worth > $1 million because I couldn’t fathom anyone being a millionaire and still struggle - so please, lead the way. You show everyone else how it will work and I’m sure all the others will follow suit.
@HKFinalThird Then why not have 16 groups of 3 where the winner of each group advances? Seems dumb to have 8 3rd place teams out of a group of 4 advance.
@grout21270@kirkkinsey I would not want to learn the English language from someone who thinks continually is different from nonstop. Did your English teacher have a mouthful of tuna and corn sandwich preventing you from being able to comprehend such a simple synonym?
@grout21270@kirkkinsey You can move the goalposts all you want - I’m not arguing there is a lack of running in American football - I’m stating the obvious that soccer players do not run nonstop as you alude to in your post. You are wrong. Just admit it.
@wannabfoode@Houseofyogi Indiana citizens will just change the name of Gary, IN to Chicago. It would be a shocking move for Gary, IN to give away all of the rich history and name recognition of Gary that generates so much tourism and revenue, but they could probably pull it off.
@podoffame@baseball_ref Let’s not look at Tucker’s splits where he performs better in the second half of the year and use one first half to determine his overall value.
