It’s been days since Talib Hussain was arrested merely for speaking against the demolition of homes of poor tribal families. Forest Department’s prejudice against the marginalised & poor is very clear because despite court directions along with a committee report on wealthy & influential encroaching upon hundreds of kanals in Jammu - ONLY helpless poor sections are being targeted. Hope NC government stop cherry picking and course corrects to ensure it’s the real land mafia that’s punished

For the seventh year in a row that too on the blessed night of Shab e Qadr not only have gates to Jama Masjid been locked but Mirwaiz Sahab too has been placed under house arrest. Year after year Kashmir’s normalcy is touted yet Kashmiris here are deprived of the very fundamental yet basic right to worship. How callous & cruel to forbid us from doing so on a day we all look forward to eagerly.

First it was young Tabish, nearly beaten to death in Uttarakhand. Now an elderly Kashmiri is being harassed while the perpetrators roam free. Where are the MPs of J&K who should be raising their voices as such attacks become routine?
Instead of upholding Raj Dharma, the state governments appear to be granting silent patronage to mob violence ,treating hatred as a shortcut to political success. The rule of law has been replaced by politics of fear.

The biggest battles are often the ones we don’t see. Families, especially the poor, are forced to sell land and assets to seek treatment outside Kashmir because local hospitals are over burden or lack capacity. This is health and governance crisis that cannot be ignored, @CM_JnK. Government needs to address this crisis.

This heartbreaking video of a mother’s desperation to walk hundreds of miles from Kashmir to Kot Bilawal Jail in Jammu just to see her imprisoned son shows the silent suffering of families whose loved ones are kept in far away prisons. It’s why I approached the Honourable High Court to request that undertrials be shifted to their native jails so families can visit them with dignity and support their legal fight. Hoping for a compassionate view.
